object v. 反对 (to present a dissenting or opposing argument) /əbˈdʒɛkt/

• O.J. Simpson's defence lawyer objected to the prosecutor's argument based on the fact that the glove did not fit.

objection n. 反对 (a reason for disagreeing with or opposing something; a reason for objecting) / əbˈdʒɛkʃ(ə)n/

• Nelson's objection to the meeting was based on the fact that he had a competing dentist appointment.

objective adj. 客观的 (dealing with facts without allowing personal feelings to confuse them) / əbˈdʒɛktɪv/

• The teacher did his best to grade in an objective fashion, ensuring that no student received a better grade based on any criteria other than the work itself.

covet v. 垂涎，觊觎 (to want (something that you do not have) very much) /ˈkəvət/
